I have had nails extensions three times. The first time it was done by my mum’s colleague. It was french manicure with Minnie Mouse. I was 21y old. Nothing wrong with a little Disney love. But the nails didn’t hold for longer than a week. Fail.
The second time was a couple of months ago. I have had them refilled every 5-6 weeks. They lasted for a while, but as I joined a gym back them, I had to take them off. You don’t want to lift heavy weights with long bio sculpting gel nails.
Last time it was just after Christmas. And even tho a lady who did them was really sweet, they started to peel off after less than two weeks. And I am that kind of a girl who goes crazy when one of the nails is not perfect anymore. So I got rid of them all. Left with weak, soft, peeling nails and really unflattering hands.
Step number one
Cut all the weak grown of bits off. You need to start fresh to have healthy nails again. Wash your hand really well. Use antibacterial soup if possible. And now moisturize. Moisturize a lot. There are lots of different hand creams out there. Lots of them filled with vitamin E or almond oil to work on nails and cuticles as well. Use the cream after every time you wash your hands.
Step number two
These three must-have Nails inc. products have always saved me. Superfood Repair Oil – filled with sweet almond oil, argan oil and rosehip oil. On the Nails inc. website they recommend to massage the oil in twice a week. I have it on my desk and massage it in 2-3 time a day for 2-3 days. By then I can see improvement and the nails are not peeling in layers anymore.
Nails growth treatment. I massage this treatment into my nails once or twice a day for 1-2 days. Press the little balls and let them melt into your nails. This will support healthy and faster growth.
NailKale superfood base coat. After about three days of constant moisturizing, I apply two layers of this vitamin boosted nail polish. Your nails will feel much stronger and smoother. And finally, they will look nice and neat again. You can re-apply couple of times a week.
If you like me like a bit of a self-care every now and then, check out my favourite natural lip balms. I always have one on my bedside table and one on my desk at work. Keep your lips protected, especially in this cold windy weather.
